Recap of Yashahime: Princess Half Demon Episode 33
In Episode 33, we see Towa resuming her travel with Rion and Riku after she escapes her confrontation with Kirinmaru. Meanwhile, Moroha and Setsuna’s battles continue to unravel. However, this episode largely focuses on Setsuna and the Demon Slayers as they give their best to prevent a local deity from taking a sacred object from a seized village.

It seems that Setsuna is finally making progress in her personal mission which may help her down the road to save Rin from her link with Zero. Also, we got to see the Demon Slayers working as a unit and preparing strategies to defend the village.
When the fight unravels, so does the truth about the attacks on the village and the reason for Mayonaka’s actions. Mayonaka says that the divine treasure originally belonged to him but that he was cheated out of it after he loaned it to the village headman’s daughter.
The story about the village offers some surprising twists, lending emotional depth to the episode which was overall well executed. Also, Setsuna can now get empathic flashbacks from touching strings of fate.
She uses this ability to understand the situation and then cut the string. Mayonaka reverts back to his original deity form and he and the village headman’s daughter reunite in spirit forms and slowly fade away.
