Wyatt Russell, who played John Walker in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, has addressed speculations that he may reprise his Marvel character in Thunderbolts in 2024. The antagonistic Marvel squad of the same name will make its big-screen debut in Thunderbolts,

Thunderbolts was officially confirmed as the penultimate film in Marvel’s Phase 5 during last weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con. The Thunderbolts, who are essentially Marvel’s anti-Avengers, are a group of allegedly changed supervillains.

Although the Thunderbolts’ composition has fluctuated over the years in Marvel comics, Wyatt Russell’s John Walker/U.S. Agent appears to have been set up as the team’s focal point in the MCU. Wyatt Russell claims he has not heard from Marvel despite The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s apparent hint that John Walker will be joining the Thunderbolts.

In the last episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, John Walker was seen in a brand-new black outfit for Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who gave him the nickname U.S. Agent. The scenario unmistakably gave the impression that “Val” was preparing to include Walker in a larger squad.

Wyatt Russell was recently asked by The Digitial Fix if he has received the call to return for Thunderbolts. In response, the actor said, “No, I’m still waiting. They are doing it, I know it. I am aware that they are making plans. There must be something in there for me, I have to believe.

But before you get the real prompt, such as “Okay, this is your start date,” wait. And now is the time when you’ll be arriving, renting a home, and beginning the logistical preparations for doing these things. When that happens, I change my attitude and decide to take action. In addition, before you receive the call, anything might happen; you never know.

Of course, Russell would probably have responded the same way if he had heard from Marvel, given the company’s stringent anti-spoiler guidelines. Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, made a casting announcement promise when discussing Thunderbolts at San Diego Comic-Con, although it is still unclear when fans may anticipate it. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is available now on Disney Plus.
