According to the latest reports, Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan is being considered to take the lead in the biopic of legendary Bollywood Icon Guru Dutt.
A brief on Guru Dutt’s life
The popular actor and filmmaker who gave Indian cinema some of its most memorable films like ‘Pyaasa’ and ‘Kaagaz Ke Phool’ is believed to have committed suicide at the age of 39. He was also responsible for giving Bollywood some of its most notable talents, like the actress Waheeda Rehman and ace cinematographer VK Murthy, amongst many others.
Biopic in works
Though various filmmakers have attempted to capture the essence of Guru Dutt’s life, they couldn’t successfully materialize on the same. Award-winning filmmaker Bhavna Talwar seems to have broken the monotony and is all set to start working towards the same. The film will most probably be called ‘Pyaasa’ after his 1957 hit film of the same name. Dutt played the role of a struggling poet in this film, which is considered to be his most celebrated work of art. So if everything goes according to the plan, Aamir Khan might be making his return to the big screen with this highly anticipated biopic.
