While some viewers are looking for easter eggs in the trailer, others are simply trying to decide whose side they should be on. In a smart move by Warner Bros., neither Kong nor Godzilla comes off looking like a villain in the footage. Instead, whatever is prompting them to tear apart cities seems to be personal.

And that makes choosing a side basically impossible. In fact, there are plenty of fans hoping the movie ends with the beloved giants striking up an unlikely friendship. Twitter user @bnacker joked, “If you think that, after fighting for the entire length of the movie, it doesn’t end up that King Kong and Godzilla were working together the whole time to steal the diamond, then I’m sorry but it’s like you’ve never seen a movie before in your life.”

Meanwhile, @Kkirsty381 said what we’re all secretly thinking: “If Kong and Godzilla don’t just become best friends and erase the human race entirely what’s even the point of the film.”

Fans are also in awe of the Godzilla vs. Kong cinematography

Not everyone is worried about whose side they should be on though. Plenty of Twitter users are just in awe of the gorgeous cinematography on display in the trailer. One fan posted a collection of shots from the trailer, and tweeted, “The cinematography in Godzilla vs. Kong is already f***ing immaculate.

Look at these compositions and the film’s use of color. This is going to be one of the most visually stunning and striking blockbusters in recent memory. Only a few blockbusters use color/framing THIS well.” While another fan observed, “The winner of #GodzillaVsKong is this neon landscape.”

Happily, moviegoers won’t have to wait much longer to see Godzilla Vs. Kong in full. The movie is heading to theaters and HBO Max on March 26.
