Check Out Who Just Confirmed For Loki Season 2?

Amongst a hoard of new MCU projects coming to Dinsey+ over the next couple of years, Marvel Studios is also in the early stages of developing Season 2 of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. Coming as the first live-action MCU show to be renewed, which came in during the credits of Season 1’s final episode, the God of Mischief will be in for wild new adventures in the near future.

Although Season 2 was officially confirmed in summer 2021, there are no signs pointing to when it will premiere on Disney+ or what will come in the story on screen. Following an appearance in 2022’s Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness, the Time Variance Authority’s newest recruit will have a Multiverse’s worth of trouble to tackle as he works more closely with the bureaucratic agency.

Considering the chaos that came in Episode 6, there is plenty of mystery surrounding who will actually come back into play from Season 1 alongside Hiddleston’s leading anti-hero. Part of that mystery is solved, however, thanks to a recent interview with one of Loki’s most secretive players from 2021.

Loki Star Gugu Mbatha-Raw Confirms Season 2 Return

In an interview with Good Morning America, Loki star Gugu Mbatha-Raw confirmed that she will play Judge Ravonna Renslayer again in Season 2 of Marvel Studios’ Loki.

When host Michael Strahan asked if Renslayer would come back for Season 2, Mbatha-Raw confirmed that she would be back for more with the MCU. Although she couldn’t say any more than that, she expressed her love for Renslayer and shared her excitement to “explore her further” next season:

“So, so exciting. I know there is a Season 2. I know that I’m in it, and that’s about all I can say! Well, I just love Renslayer. I’m so excited to explore her further, and I’m so happy that people are really looking forward to the next season.”

What’s in Store for Renslayer in Loki Season 2?

Just like almost everything else that came at the end of Loki Season 1, Judge Renslayer’s next path is shrouded in mystery and uncertainty.

In Episode 6, Renslayer stood her ground against Owen Wilson’s Mobius in order to keep the status quo at the TVA, showing the first signs of her path to being the villain she is in the comics. She was last seen leaving her office through a time portal before the TVA and its staff completely changed, although her destination is unknown for the time being.

On a mission to find out what was really behind the deception at the TVA, Renslayer could be even more dangerous than ever as she comes back into play for Season 2. Throw in her ties to Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror, the being behind that madness, and there are plenty of options for where Marvel Studios could take her story.

The fact that Mbatha-Raw confirmed her return should bring excitement for Loki Season 2, which already boasts Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie with the strong chance that Owen Wilson’s Mobius will come back as well.

Right now, the only details known about Season 2 are that Marvel is looking to start production sometime in summer 2022, but its release date is still up in the air. Regardless of when that comes, Renslayer’s return will be just a small part of Loki’s deeper dive into the time-traveling Multiversal shenanigans that will add to the MCU’s narrative.

The first season of Loki is available to stream on Disney+.
