What Will Black Panther 2’s Post-Credits Scene Hold?

Rotten Tomatoes’ Orlando Maldonado noted that Black Panther 2’s mid-credits tag is “super sweet”

There’s a very slim possibility that an additional spoiler-y post-credits scene was omitted from the premiere screenings by Disney to prevent it from leaking ahead of the sequel’s worldwide release on November 11.

For perspective, in Phase 1, five of the six movies had one mid or post-credits scene, while The Avengers had two.

Phase 2 was split evenly down the middle, featuring three movies with one post-credits scene and three movies with two.

Phase 3 mostly featured movies with two post-credits scenes with a couple of exceptions. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 set the MCU record with five scenes, Avengers: Infinity War only had one, and Avengers: Endgame became the only MCU movie with no post-credits moments.

Thus far in Phase 4, Black Widow is the only movie with one post-credits scene while the other five films have two.

Marvel Studios has set the standard for exciting reveals in its movies’ post-credits scenes, although Black Panther 2 certainly takes an interesting route by only having one that’s been revealed thus far.

Considering the emotion that critics described, it could serve as yet another tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman or it may tackle another heartfelt moment from elsewhere in Wakanda. Rumors have also pointed to T’Challa’s son being revealed in this story, which could potentially be what happens in the post-credits sequence.

However, there’s a slim chance as well that Marvel isn’t bringing everything for critics and is choosing to save a bigger reveal for the entire world to see upon the movie’s full release, which has been done in the past like with The Avengers.

Particularly with Black Panther 2 ending Phase 4, Marvel may decide to take that route in order to bring something that breaks the internet when it’s shared with the entire fandom. Whether this is something like a Doctor Doom reveal or another major event is a mystery, but it’s one that fans will be eager to find out the answer to.

For now, the public waits to find out what’s in the only confirmed post-credits scene, with reviews for Black Panther 2 as a whole coming in with overwhelming positivity.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will debut in theaters on Friday, November 11.
