What is the Pumpkin-Headed Creature in The Sandman?

While we had so many new creatures and breathtaking places to relish in, thanks to The Sandman, this Pumpkin Headed creature did get our attention.

While the first season of The Sandman comes to a majestic end, we cannot wait for the next season to solve all of the unanswered questions of the first season.

If you look closely at it, Mervyn will definitely give you a snarky comment for getting close to him, so let us do the viewing on your behalf.

Mervyn, our sarcastic Pumpkin-headed creature, is one of the entities that returned back after the King of Dreams, Morpheus, came back to Dreaming.

While we are not given a detailed report of what kind of creature he is, we can see that he has the Pumpkin for a head that to a carved Halloween pumpkin for a head, and the remaining body structure is seemingly constructed with branches of a tree.

We can call it a pumpkin-headed creature for now, but it also looks like a scarecrow that people set up to scare the crows or birds that try to feed on their crops.

What is the Pumpkin-Headed Creature in The Sandman?

If our Pumpkin headed creature, aka Mervyn, were indeed a scarecrow, then that would also explain why he went on a word battle of wits with our Raven Matthew.

But, we have to wait for some more time to know more about the creatures we got to witness.

From Gregory or Gargoyle to the newly born Goldie the Gargoyle, to Fiddler’s Green to dreams and nightmares, we have a lot of unanswered and unknown creatures in the Dreaming.

We would have to wait for the second season to take us deep into the realm of dreams.
