About Vinland Saga:

Vinland Saga is a manga series written and illustrated by Makoto Yukimura. The series is published by Kodansha, and was first serialized in the youth-targeted Weekly Shōnen Magazine. Although after a while, it began its serialization in the monthly manga magazine Monthly Afternoon, aimed at young adult men.

As a child, Thorfinn sat at the feet of the great Leif Ericson and find the wild tales of west land thrilling. But his youthful fantasies were shattered by a mercenary raid. Afterward, he was raised by the Vikings who murdered his father, became a terrifying warrior, forever seeking to kill Askeladd. Sustaining Thorfinn through his ordeal is his family’s pride and his dream of a land without war or slavery – Vinland.

A Brief Recap of Vinland Saga Chapter 192:

In this chapter the element of mystery was added to it when we find out the local natives have been stirring up some trouble. Firstly this arc officially has a name, “Thousand Year Voyage”. We start off with Thorfinn building a monument for the dead. Later on we see Thorfinn talking with Vargar who says that while sailing near Markland, two arrows were shot at their ships as signs of warning.

With the fear of conflict and worry over the lives of the people in the settlement over in Markland, Thorfinn sets out to unravel the mystery. With Vargar and Eivar, Thorfinn arrives in the settlement where there is no one to be seen and only hoards of native arrows shot all around. There is no sign of destruction or blood but the 13 settlers of Markland are nowhere to be found.
Thorfinn spends the whole day trying to call out the native tribe who they presume to be the Lnu. When their efforts are met with no result Eivar blames Thorfinn for this fiasco saying that none of this would have happened if he had allowed weapons in Vinland so that the people would know how to defend themselves. The chapter ends with a distraught Thorfinn questioning himself and his decision.

What to Expect From Vinland Saga Chapter 193.

In the upcoming chapters we can expect to see an answer regarding the mystery of the disappearance of the Markland settlers. There are also subtle hints of upcoming conflicts that might take place between the Norse and the Native Americans. It all depends upon what Thorfinn decides to do now for the sake of Vinland and its people.
