Is Tom Hiddleston Queer? Actor Opens Up About Gender Fluidity
Episode 3 of the Loki series has officially confirmed that the Asgardian trickster is gender fluid. Tom Hiddleston has also opened up about gender fluidity. But is Tom Hiddleston queer himself?
Although Loki’s gender identity has been explored in the comics, the movies have not really portrayed this side of him. However, with the new episode comes a new revelation.
Loki is not the first queer character in the MCU and he clearly won’t be the last. But it took long enough for them to reveal his gender fluidity as fans came to know about it only 10 years after Loki’s debut.
The show’s director, Kate Herron, also tweeted about the importance of Loki’s representation right after the episode aired.

Tom Hiddleston On Gender Fluidity
Speaking to Out, Tom Hiddleston addresses Loki’s fluid identity. The actor said that he knew about this fluidity in Loki 10 years back when he was first cast for the character.
“There’s been a fluidity about Loki that I found really interesting and compelling and very much a part of the fabric of the character. It was really thrilling to get to touch on that this time around,” Hiddleston revealed.
Hiddleston also said that the MCU’s commitment to more diversity is really exciting. “The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding and quite correctly, is so much more inclusive.” the actor said.
Hiddleston also said that this further creates an opportunity for storytelling that the audience has not been shown yet. “Thrilled to be part of it, and can’t wait to see where it goes,” he mentioned.
Is Tom Hiddleston Part Of The Queer Community?
It is clear that Hiddleston is supportive of inclusivity and the LGBTQ community. However, Tom Hiddleston himself is not queer.
The actor has been in several high-profile relationships with women over the years. Hiddleston currently has a girlfriend named Zawe Ashton. The duo has been dating since 2019.
It is said that they both met in 2019 and have been living together since 2020. However, they have kept their relationship private.
Besides Ashton, Hiddleston has also dated other stars including Jessica Chastain, Elizabeth Olsen, Taylor Swift, and others. Swift’s song Getaway Car from her album Reputation is also about her romance with the Loki actor.
