Saying that The Witcher Season 2 has a lot of hype around it would be an understatement.

Early Rumors

The actors dressed like what appeared to be this non-human group of fighters was first spotted in February, but we couldn’t confirm anything back then, and it stayed as just another speculation. But, we finally have confirmed answers.

While the shooting rumors and gossips have been coming in non-stop, Netflix has taken it upon itself to add fuel to them by sharing new set photos as a Christmas present.

Christmas came early!

Netflix left a lot to our imagination and kept it simple by sharing three pictures from the set, riddled with Easter eggs and hidden meanings. But what fans were quick to catch from it was that insignia of Scoia’tael.

For some time now, there have been rumors that this group of non-human fighters will be seen making an appearance in the second season, but now, with this post from Netflix, it is confirmed that they will play a part in the journey of Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer.

What is Scoia’tael?

To those who aren’t aware of the story in the books, Scoia’tael is a group of non-human fighters who indulge in brutal attacks and guerilla warfare. They have been a massive pain in the butt for Geralt throughout the book.

Now this spells trouble for Geralt and Ciri. According to some sources, it is said that Geralt and Ciri‘s bonding will be shown in the second season, unlike the book. There are also chances that Geralt and Ciri‘s journey to Kaer Morhen might be shown.

Trouble on the way?

The Witcher

If that’s the case and Scoia’tael might be making an appearance, then let’s hope that they don’t face them on the way. If then it would be hard for Geralt to tackle them single-handedly. Let’s just hope it’s not how they plan to make their debut in the series.

Otherwise, everything is going according to plan, and we might, after all, get the series in 2021. If the shooting finishes on schedule, then the post-production work will take six months, if it is anything like the first season.

Yes, Henry Cavill, our Geralt, is injured, but the shoot is going on without his scenes so, let’s hope that he gets healed soon and joins the crew asap. There are possibilities that Netflix is planning to release this season too like the previous one in December, so if that’s the case, then we might get the second season in December of 2021.
