Ever since the pandemic started, every streaming platform has been earning like crazy. From Netflix to Hulu or whatever local ones we have, they have been fulfilling their duty of keeping us entertained.

The Witcher

One of the shows which kept us entertained, which also came just three months before the pandemic started, was The Witcher.

Developed from the popular short stories written by Andrzej Sapkowski and from the video games, the Witcher show was the most-watched show on Netflix. Well, until Bridgerton took its spot recently.

The Witcher, without any effort, took the first place and gave fans something to obsess over. But the fans have been hanged out to dry since the second season hasn’t yet been released.

When will season 2 be released?

Due to the pandemic, the second season shooting has been delayed so much that the season might be released only by this year in December or 2022.

But fans have a lot of things to look forward to. Netflix has already announced an anime feature film and a prequel to add more content to the Witcher franchise.

As of now, we know that Lauren S. Hissrich is super excited and that the show will go on for at least 5 to 7 seasons if it’s following the Game of Thrones pattern.

Not yet done with the show?

The Witcher has a lot of stories to tell. Now the writers of the show go a little further and different with the approach than the author himself so, they might be able to give us solid content for years.

After all, we already know that they changed a lot of characters and storylines. With these new reports of Eskel being dead, we clearly have no idea what the writers are thinking.

The Witcher’s second season will come to take away its spot from Bridgerton very soon, and Netflix has other plans for this famous show.

More Spinoffs!

Even before the first season was released, the show was revived for the second season. Likewise, a prequel and anime film was announced far before anyone would’ve done.

Netflix has its faith in The Witcher and looks like they will be doing everything they could to keep the show running.

The same sources, which revealed that Netflix would be producing a prequel, have now revealed that there will be more seasons to come and that the streaming giant is interested in creating as many spinoffs as possible.

Rejoice! This is the news every Witcher fans deserve! On that note, stay tuned for more such news and updates from the Witcher set.
