Sony has been working on a remake of The Last of Us for the PlayStation 5. And now we have with us supposed new details of that new version.

According to information from GameReactor, the remake of The Last of Us will have more substantial improvements than a simple visual update. And it is that not only will it have improvements in resolution and performance, but Naughty Dog is looking to take advantage of “power and features” of the PS5, noting that the remake will be adapted to the new engine used in The Last of Us Part 2 (via ComicBook).

Although additional features were not detailed, it can be inferred that the study will seek to take advantage of haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and 3D Audio to enhance The Last of Us.

While nothing that has been revealed indicates that Naughty Dog will alter the narrative of the game, some believe that perhaps they will take the opportunity to add new elements to the story. Although the truth is that it seems difficult that they are going to make changes to this title which is considered one of the best of its kind.

At the moment there is nothing official about the remake of The Last of Us for PS5 so we must take the information as a simple rumor, but in the same way we will be staying tuned to more details about it.

The Last of Us has an upcoming HBO TV series adaptation, after a failed attempt to adapt it into a movie.
