The Hype Around Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Is Unbelievable
Everyone knew from the get-go that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was going to be the next big thing. But no one ever thought that it’d be so big on its very opening day; it became an instant hit. Moreover, the theatres in Japan were forced to increase the screenings of the movie. Not to mention, the first-day box office collection was humongous and it’ll be only breaking records from hereon.

The Release Date of Jujutsu Kaisen 0:
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was released on 24 December 2021 with a bang that no one saw coming. Although there was an anticipation that it will perform well, the first-day box-office collection was still unbelievable.
The Box Office Collection:
According to recent reports, around 1 million people saw the film on its first day, resulting in a box-office collection of little more than 1 billion yen. Furthermore, the revenue for the film’s first-day release is approximately 1.05 billion, which is equivalent to 8.74 million USD.
Keeping in mind that gigantic amount, was Jujutsu Kaisen 0 able to outperform Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’s record? A bit unfortunate but no; Mugen Train’s first-day box office collection was 1.2 billion yen (10.4 million USD). Regardless, JJK 0 became the highest-grossing anime film of the year and 1 billion is no joke.
A Special Booklet:
Theaters across Japan are distributing 5 million copies of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0.5 booklet to the audience on a first-come-first-serve basis. The booklet contains the 9-page extra story drawn by Gege Akutami.

Along with that, it also includes Q & A with the mangaka, storyboards, and rejected drawings of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 volume. The 9-page extra story was published earlier with the Jujutsu Kaisen manga to promote the movie.
A Neat Little Surprise in Jujutsu Kaisen 0:
While manga-readers are aware of the relationship between Satoru Gojo and Suguru Getou, it is only hinted at in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 manga. In fact, some scenes from the Hidden Inventory arc are in the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie. They give viewers a glimpse of the shared past between these two characters.
This was done in order to make the movie more interesting for the manga-readers and anime-only audience alike. And that’s how you pull up a surprise move that people weren’t ready for.
There Was A Need For Additional Screenings:
The theatres had planned to screen the film at 28 screens in 14 theaters across Japan. However, the screenings gradually increased after the fans showed up in huge numbers.
It was increased to 58 after tickets for the movie sold out within minutes on the first day of sales. About 15,000 people watched the anime film nationwide at the earliest public screenings on Friday.

International Release Date of Jujutsu Kaisen 0:
Sadly, MAPPA didn’t officially confirm any worldwide release date for the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie. As of now, anime film is only available to watch in theatres in Japan.
The Plot Of Jujutsu Kaisen 0:
Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem—his childhood friend Rika has turned into a curse and won’t leave him alone.
Since Rika is no ordinary curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the curse that haunts him?
