Izumo Ito’s The Demon Girl Next Door is a four-panel manga parody series written and illustrated in Japan. It was later published in the seinen manga magazine Manga Time Kirara Carat by Houbunsha.
Yuko Yoshida awakens one day with horns and a tail, discovering she is the descendant of a dark clan sentenced to poverty by the opposing light clan. Yuko is assigned the task of beating the town’s local magical girl, Momo Chiyoda, in order to restore her clan’s prestige.

The Demon Girl Next Door Season 2 Episode 5 Recap
Shamiko was faced with the most difficult and risky assignment of her brief demon career: part-time work in the foodservice sector. She may have thought defeating the magical girls and saving her father from his cardboard destiny would be hard, but now she has contended with the ruthless world of waitressing.
Shamiko is again on the hunt for leads in the quest for Sakura, and after roaming aimlessly for hours doesn’t provide results, she turns to Anri for assistance. It’s amazing how unaffected Anri is by the bizarre world she lives in, to the point that she can casually take Shamiko to a local demon-run restaurant, since of course, Anri knows more about all of this than anybody else.
Mikan and Momo, on the other hand, receive a pretty interesting side narrative in which they team up with Doll! Since they’re worried about how many days Shamiko has forgotten about her purpose (and Mikan can’t just play hours of Pretend Restaurant with Shamiko every night), they’ve asked Lilith to break into the Café and save their buddy from her dreadful fate. Not only do we get to see Mikan’s stunning Magical Girl transformation for the first time, but we also get to watch a lot of amusing banter amongst the trio. It’s a lighthearted reminder of the otherworld version of TDGND, which is essentially a well-executed Pretty Cure! clone.

The Demon Girl Next Door Season 2 Episode 6 Spoilers
As we see in the last Episode, Yuko finds herself working part-time at Café Asura, run by Shirosawa, the tapir demon and Lico, the Huli jing fox, after Anri tips her about where to find other demons who may know about Sakura. Mikan, Momo, and Lilith take down the magical barrier surrounding the café to confront the owners and save Yuko when they notice Yuko is acting strangely and forgetting about her mission.
Upon arrival, it is found that Yuko’s drowsiness and memory loss have been caused by her excessive drinking amounts of Lico’s enchanted food, an effect Shirosawa was not aware of. So what happens next? We will find out in Demon Girl Next Door Season 2 Episode 5.
