It’s been two years since the last episode we got of Stranger Things season 3, which was on 4th July 2019. We have waited for more than we should all thanks to the pandemic but never mind as the legends say everything happens for a reason, so anyway, the good ‘Thing’ from Stranger Thing is there are some hints that our patience could be rewarded relatively soon.
This series is one of Netflix’s most successful creations from the Duffer brothers’ having more than 40 million households turning in during its first few days on the streaming site. As many as 18 million fans have already watched every episode released so far.
Season 4 Coming Quite Soon.
We hope the wait for Season 4 is worth every second of Stranger Things, although executive producer Shawn Levy has said that the newest season is set to come “quite soon.”
The audience got a glimpse of what’s to come when a teaser trailer was released in May, showing things had gone awry since the Season 3 finale. As for, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) appears to be locked behind a door in the very sort of institution she was raised in. “Eleven, are you listening?” a voice says, causing her eyes to shoot wide open. The voice is assumed to be Papa, a.k.a. Dr. Martin Brenner, the former scientist at the U.S. Department of Energy who raised test subjects at Hawkins Lab, including Eleven.
Stranger Things Season 4 Release.
As filming is about to be complete, and with the end of production will come to a new tease for fans. Collider’s own Steve Weintraub recently spoke with Stranger Things executive producer and director Shawn Levy during the press day for his new movie Free Guy and asked Levy if filming was wrapped, and if a release date announcement was imminent, he says:
“I have been, along with the brothers, we have been kind of tag-teaming it and directing it as recently as now. So not quite done filming. [We’ll be done] imminently. All I can say is by the time this airs, we’ll at least have given the world a ballpark. And I’m not allowed to say more. By the time Free Guy comes out, August 13th, part of that answer will be known.”
Shawn Levy also promised a season that is “very ambitious” both visually and narratively, even more than the first three seasons, then explained:
The delay is due in large measure to COVID and the pace at which we have to work to do so safely, but it also happens to be the season that we chose to go much bigger. It’s the scale of this season and the multi-settings of Season 4.
Now, an announcement around the new season’s release date is imminent. David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper, said on Jimmy Kimmel that production would wrap up in August 2021.
Once filming is complete, it will only be a matter of months for Netflix to go through post-production on the season ahead of its premiere. And from my speculation, I can say that post-production can take up to 4-5 months, so we can expect to arrive at the near end of 2021 or the very beginning of 2022.
