Salma Hayek As Ajak In Eternals: “Different Relationship With Each One”
Eternals is now the third movie to be released in phase 4 of the MCU. The story revolves around the celestial beings who have been protecting the earth for many years and centuries from other beings who have been trying to harm it. In Eternals, we will be seeing actor Salma Hayek as Ajak.
With Eternals, the cinematic universe will be expanded and we will be witnessing a whole new different realm. While the release date of the movie has been pushed date several times because of the COVID-19 pandemic, fans will get a theatrical release on November 5 this year.
During Screen Rant‘s visit to the set of Eternals, while they were shooting, actor Salma Hayek opened up about Ajak which is the character she will be playing. Hayek talked about Ajak’s view of the other characters in Eternals. Hayek spoke specifically about Ajak’s maternal role in the group of superheroes. She also talked about her various relationships with the other Eternals.

Hayek’s character Ajak is a character that was modified when it comes to gender. Ajak was a male figure in the comics but was gender-swapped for the Eternals film. This also allowed directors and producers to explore the character along with her femininity.

Hayek said that he had a specific observation through her character. “The thing of the mother was interesting because it allows me to have a specific perspective of observation. That it’s a specific human way of seeing all the people in these– there’s a level of love, of caring, and empathy. There’s a level of trying to hold, not just the mission, but, the family that is doing this mission, which is different,” she said.
Hayek also mentioned that she has a different relationship with each one of the Eternals. She also compared them to her kids. “I have a different relationship with each one of them like you do with your kids. And you can differentiate, this one is going to be the one that is going to have trouble with this,” she said
