Pokemon 2019 Episode 116 Recap

Let’s take a look at what happened in the previous episode of Pokemon 2019. The Masters tournament to decide the greatest pokemon trainer in the world is finally here. Ash and Goh have arrived at the stadium where the tournament will be taking place, and Ash immediately finds himself in action after he is challenged by Hop to a pokemon battle.

To everyone’s surprise, Hop’s Wooloo is knocked out by a single iron tail from Ash’s Pikachu. Hop reveals that he is Leon’s brother, which comes as another surprise to Ash and Goh. Team Rocket’s Jessie, James, and Meowth were also seen lurking around broadcasting the event.

Gigantamax Rillaboon

The tournament finally began and the champions of the respective regions were introduced one by one. The matchups were then decided and Ash’s first opponent is revealed to be Steven. The first match was between Alain and Leon, the reigning champion and the current rank 1 pokemon trainer in the world.

Alain sends out his Chestnaught while Leon sends out Rillaboom revealing a fight between grass-type pokemon. Without wasting a moment, Leon immediately transforms his pokemon into its gigantamax form but Chestnaught was able to defend until Rillaboon’s gigantamax ended. However, Rillaboon is able to dodge Chestnaught’s attacks using Acrobat and ends up winning the fight.

Alain then sends out Charizard to fight against Rillaboon, and uses Flare Drive which is super effective against the opponent, easily winning the fight. Leon then decides to send out a Charizard of his own which also turns out to be his ace pokemon. Alain switches his Charizard with Malamar but unfortunately for him, his decision causes Malamar to be taken out almost immediately by Leon’s Charizard.

Alain Mega Charizard

Alain has only one pokemon left but there is still hope for him as his Charizard reveals its mega evolution. Alain’s Charizard uses Dragon Claw while Leon’s Charizard uses Ancient power. The two Charizard battle neck to neck but after an intense battle, Leon’s Charizard is able to counter Alain’s Charizard’s Flare Drive with  Dragon Pulse, securing the win for Leon.
