About the Anime
Eiichiro Oda’s manga series One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and drawn by him. Since July 1997, it has been published in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump, and the individual chapters have been collected into 101 volumes as of December 2021.
Monkey D. Luffy is a rubbery young man who, inspired by his boyhood hero, the mighty pirate “Red Haired” Shanks, embarks on a quest from the East Blue Sea to collect the legendary treasure known as the One Piece and proclaim himself King of the Pirates. Luffy rescues and befriends a pirate hunter and swordsman named Roronoa Zoro in order to assemble his own crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, and they set off in pursuit of the titular treasure.

Nami, a money-obsessed robber and navigator; Usopp, a sharpshooter and compulsive liar; and Sanji, a perverse yet chivalrous cook, accompany them on their adventure. They get a ship, the Going Merry, and engage in battles with the East Blue pirates.
Later in the series, new characters join Luffy and his crew, including Tony Tony Chopper, an anthropomorphized reindeer doctor; Nico Robin, an archaeologist and former Baroque Works assassin; Franky, a cyborg shipwright; Brook, a skeleton musician and swordsman; and Jimbei, a fish-man helmsman and former member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.
The Straw Hat Pirates receive a new ship, the Thousand Sunny, built by Franky, when the Going Merry is destroyed beyond repair. As they travel the seas in search of their aspirations, they encounter other pirates, bounty hunters, criminal groups, revolutionaries, secret agents, and troops of the corrupt World Government, as well as a variety of other allies and opponents.

Recap of One Piece Chapter 1047
Yamato tells Momonosuke that he must create flame clouds in order to defend the Flower Capital and Onigashima in One Piece chapter 1047. He tells his mother that he can’t as a flashback begins to his final chat with her. Toki Kozuki instructs her son to journey into the future with Kin’emon and the others to resurrect the Kozuki clan while Oden castle burns around them. Momonosuke continues repeating he can’t and pleading with her and Hiyori to accompany them. Kin’emon comes in and says Toki is in even more suffering than he is right now.
Meanwhile, in the Kaido vs. Luffy fight, the former chuckles as he dismisses the latter’s thunder snatching. The latter retaliated by unleashing the Gum-Gum Thunder strike on his opponent, which was only narrowly avoided. Kaido then informs him that he may play around all he likes, but he will never be able to dominate the planet. He goes on to tell that Gol D. Roger, the former Pirate King, didn’t have any Devil Fruit of his own. Luffy is launched into the Skull Dome, where his Awakening kicks in and propels him back to Kaido. With his kanabo, the latter hits the former, proclaiming that only Haki can conquer all.
Luffy is sent into the air as a result of the most recent strike, but one of his arms remains attached to Kaido. This finding has him practically enraged, and he tells his opponent to let go while claiming he’s simply letting the world know where he is. He fires a Tatsumaki Kaifu into the sky, implying that Luffy’s earlier slicing flaws must still exist. This appears to be the truth, as the assault lands high in the sky, forcing Straw Hat to grimace in agony as a result of the attack.
Spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1048
A Twitter user shared an excerpt from the interview, where Oda says that:
“When Kaidou first appeared, I said that Luffy could not defeat such a strong character. However, even I want to know how Luffy will defeat Kaidou… My audience will probably not be satisfied if the reason for defeating Kaidou is only because Luffy’s punch was stronger. Luffy and I have to find a solution somehow.

This user @Hoshy_Mark still believes that chapter 1048 of One Piece will probably bring some flashback after this punch. That would give Kaidou time to be passed out for a while – and Luffy to believe he defeated him.And Oda finding a solution to that problem.
