Olivia Wilde Dropped a Spider-Woman Hint After Signing on to Direct an Upcoming Marvel Film

Sony Pictures is not only growing its slate of Universe of Marvel characters but also building on female characters at its centre, and landing one of the most sought-after female directors in Hollywood.

The actor and director, Olivia Wilde, signed a deal with Sony Pictures to direct an untitled Marvel film with a female-centric character. Wilde confirmed the news on Wednesday by responding to (@JoshGad) Josh Gad, American actor, comedian, and singer who is best known for voicing Olaf in the Frozen franchise and sharing the reports with a spider emoji. The clue has excited fans with plenty of speculation around a potential Spider-Woman movie.

Josh Gad replied to it by saying, “The fact that @oliviawilde is directing an @MarvelStudios film is enough to get through one more day.” To this, Wilde replied, “It’s the least I could do in exchange for the gift of Olaf.”

The Spider-Woman character has really been the alter ego image of a few characters in the Spider-Man timeline throughout the years including Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane Watson and Jessica Drew, who was the first to don the ensemble in the last part of the 1970s.
