Junji Ito's Uzumaki Gets Anime Adaptation

Junji Ito’s Uzumaki is probably one of his most popular works. It’s also hailed as one of the best horror media (not limited to manga) all over the world. What’s the great fresh news about Uzumaki? Well, there’s a new update set to release soon!

A story about a mysterious all-consuming spiral that makes the residents of a small town go crazy, Uzumaki terrifies in very unique unsettling ways. Serialized from 1998 till 1999, the manga masterpiece has a total of three Tankobon volumes.

The manga has received a lot of critical praise and acclaim for its effective use of body horror to tell a story about nihilism and a nightmarish dreamlike world. In 2019, Production I.G. and Adult Swim are going to co-produce an anime adaptation of Uzumaki. The Uzumaki anime will premiere soon on Toonami. Also, there was a teaser video showing some mind-boggling scenes of one of its main characters. 

There have been very few announcements of the details about its release and other miscellaneous stuffs. 

The official Twitter account of Uzumaki shared that they’ll be sharing some teasers or maybe some big news. They were very vague about it and didn’t reveal much. So, at this point, everything is open to speculation.

Jason DeMarco, a co-founder of Toonami, talked about how the COVID-19 Pandemic has had a disastrous impact on Uzumaki’s production. However, he spoke about how all the teams are working hard to get the iconic horror anime delivered to the screens of many fans.
