The upcoming anime Tokyo Revengers, which will be broadcast from April, is a time-travelling adventure. The protagonist time travels to 12 years ago in order to save his murdered former lover, Hinata Tachibana, and change himself as well.

The key visual depicts Takemichi Hanagaki in flames hugging Hinata while shedding tears. Weekly Shonen Magazine No. 10 (Kodansha)’s February 3rd edition will include a key visual and a comment by Yuki Shin, who plays the role of Takemichi.

Takemichi Hanagaki, the protagonist of the series, weeps bitter tears while cradling the body of Hinata Tachibana, his former girlfriend, while flames dance all around him in a new key visual for the upcoming Tokyo Revengers TV anime.

In addition, the pre-screening event of the TV Anime Tokyo Revengers will be held just before the broadcast. It will be held on March 30th at Kanda Myojin Hall in Tokyo. At the event, in addition to the pre-screening up to the third episode, Azumi Waki (as Hinata Tachibana), Ryota Osaka (as Naoto Tachibana) , Yu Hayashi (as Manjiro Sano) , and Tatsuhisa Suzuki (as Ken Ryuguji) will be giving a talk.

The ticket to the venue is 10,000 yen; but online viewing tickets will also be available.

Here is Kodansha’s synopsis for the original manga, which is by Ken Wakui:

Watching the news, Takemichi Hanagaki learns that his girlfriend from way back in middle school, Hinata Tachibana, has died. The only girlfriend he ever had was just killed by a villainous group known as the Tokyo Manji Gang. He lives in a crappy apartment with thin walls, and his six-years-younger boss treats him like an idiot. Plus, he’s a complete and total virgin … At the height of his rock-bottom life, he suddenly time-leaps twelve years back to his middle school days!! To save Hinata, and change the life he spent running away, hopeless part-timer Takemichi must aim for the top of Kanto’s most sinister delinquent gang!!

The manga has more than 3 million copies in circulation. It won the 44th Kodansha Manga Award for the shōnen category in 2020.
