News for The Witcher Season 2 features the addition of a new Witcher to Kaer Morhen.

Filming for season 2 of Netflix’s hit fantasy series, The Witcher, has been discontinued, but the news production has been providing fans with a curious look at the upcoming series’ cast and perhaps its plot.

According to a new report, the new witcher will be inducted in Rivia’s home, Kaer Morhen, in Season 2. A new witcher named Hemrick is the original character, missing from the novel series by Andrzej Sapkowski. He will be played by a stunt man and actor Joel Adrian.

Joining Adrian in Season 2 is veteran actor Vernon Dobchef, who plays “The Old Elven Man”; theater actor Alina Ilin, playing the elf; Leslie Ewen, as Meena Coppercloth and The Great Scarlet Maltman, whose role is currently unknown.

At the end of Season 1 of The Witcher, Geralt found Ciri, and it was suggested that the two would go to Kaer Morhen for the winter, as in Andrej Sapkowski’s novel series. Reports from the set confirm this and match the events of Blood of Elves in the Season 2, in which Ciri is trained by Geralt and other monster hunters of the ancient castle.

It should be noted that Season 1 used non-linear storytelling to extend the events of the novels so that Hemrick can join these witches, but the original character of the Netflix series may also appear in flashback.

It is currently unknown about when production will resume for Season 2. It stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Wenberg’s Yennefer, Freya Allan as Ciri, and Joey Batey as Jaskier. Season 1 is now available on Netflix.
