Naruto series has been a worldwide success thanks to its incredible plot and the exciting addition of characters and beasts.
Extent of Power
Tailed beasts in Naruto are known to be some of the most powerful creatures in the series. They have an enormous amount of power and chakra.
The thing with the tailed beasts is that they hate the humans who could control them, but their fate is sealed so that without their jinchūriki, they are not as formidable.
Many shinobi have had the power to control the tailed beast. While only very few had the power to completely control the beast, some, even without being a jinchūriki, have had the power to do so.
Tailed Beasts and its Jinchūriki
These are the normal jinchūriki we saw who controlled the tailed beasts which Akatsuki captured.
One-Tails – Shukaku and Gaara; Two-Tails – Matatabi and Yugito Nii; Three-Tails – Isobu and Rin Nohara also later taken over by Yagura Karatachi; Four-Tails – Son Goku and Roshi; Five-Tails – Kokuo and Han; Six-Tails – Saiken and Utakata; Seven-Tails – Chomei and Fu; Eight-Tails – Gyuki and Killer Bee; finally, Nine-Tails – Kurama and Naruto.
Now, in these jinchūriki, some were chosen with their consent, while others just happened to be involved in a bigger sinister plan by the elders in their village.
Power of Hatred
Most of these shinobi had a decent relationship or at least one that had ‘you don’t trouble me, I won’t trouble you’ one. All of them were quite understandable and ready to comply a little, except, of course, Kurama.
Kurama was the one that created a lot of trouble for Naruto. Well, he ended up being the most loyal, so that shouldn’t bother us anymore.
Now, these aren’t the only shinobi who tamed the tailed beasts. There are other powerful shinobi who are non- jinchūriki but have tamed the beast to its full extent.
While Killer Bee, Naruto Uzumaki, and Minato Namikaze are the most efficient jinchūriki who had controlled their beasts fully and had their complete cooperation, the Uchihas are not far behind.
The first Hokage is undoubtedly the most powerful shinobi of his time and three generations to come.
He had the power to beat up Madara and his Nine-Tails and was also able to capture various tailed-beasts and lend it as a peace offering to other villages to form a peace alliance.
He could do this by using Hokage-Style— Kakuan Entering Society with Bliss-Bringing Hands, which utilizes his Wood Release Kekkei Genkai power.
This guy was one of the most potent Uchiha ever to exist. He is the only one who could go toe to toe with Hashirama Senju and have a chance.
Madara controlled the ten tails and became its jinchūriki. Before he became a jinchūriki, he tried to control the beast with roots generated from his body with Hashirama DNA mixed with it.
It worked, but as Madara himself said, it was not perfect. He later becomes a jinchūriki and wreaks havoc tho.
Only the two Uchihas who have used Mangekyō Sharingan and successfully tame the tailed beast are Obito and Madara.
Along with Madara, Obito also tries to control the ten tails and later becomes a jinchūriki. Obito controls the jinchūriki and their beasts by combining chakra chains and black receivers using his Rinnegan.
Lucky for the Uchihas, a Sharingan user who has controlled and tamed the beasts, could also use it as his summoning. But the enormous amount of chakra needed to keep them there makes it hard to keep them for a longer time in battle.
Sasuke became one of the most powerful shinobi in his generation even before he got the powers from the Sage of Six Path.
With his Rinnegan, Sasuke was able to control all the nine-tailed beasts, and that too with just a glance.
He didn’t need any theatrics like Obito or Madara!
While Naruto and Killer Bee were the only ones who had a cordial and profound relationship with their beast, in later years, even Gaara develops affection over his One Tail and vows to protect him.
Others who have tried to control the beast and failed are many. The ones who have had good intentions and have succeeded a little are Captain Yamato, with his altered DNA with wood-style from First Hokage, and Yūkimaru, the kid who Naruto vowed to protect.
