My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Climax to Get Its Own Game
The third season of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU started airing on July 15, with its final episode airing on September 25 last week. It was popular enough that #oregairu- an abbreviation of the Japanese title Yahari Ore no Seishun Rabukome wa Machigatteiru, was trending on Twitter for several hours. Mages, the publishers, has announced a game for this third season.
Mages had also previously released two games based on the first two seasons: My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Game and My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO! Game (Their Japanese titles are Yahari Game demo Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru, and Yahari Game demo Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru Zoku.). They were released in 2013 and 2016 for the Playstation Vita by game developer 5pb, who also released a bundle of these two games for the Playstation 4 in October 2017.
About My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU:
Originally a series of light novels called My Youth Romantic Comedy is Wrong, As I Expected, by author Wataru Watari, it chronicles the relationship of Yukino Yukinoshita, Hachiman Hikigaya, and Yui Yuigahama. It began in 2011, and its final and 14th volume were shipped in November 2019. For the anime viewers who are interested in more Oregairu content, the novels are a good place to start- there are several fan translations of the original Japanese online, and the anime also omits entire chapters and a lot of Hachiman’s thoughts. There are several manga adaptations as well: all of them official, but there are two main ones- Monologue, and Comic.
Watari has not released any further details about the game, besides this tweet:
which basically confirmed the release of the upcoming video game. This was followed by another tweet from Mages, which gave us some information about it:
