The narration begins the chapter by explaining that Shigaraki’s modified body will always seek an ideal form. To cope with the damage to his body and his inner turmoil, he transforms the likenesses of his family members into hands similar to the ones he used to wear, but these function more like armor.

Mirko is probably rendered unconscious after Shigaraki strikes her with a smash. He then attacks Mirio, telling him that in his current state, he poses no threat to Shigaraki. The villain easily defeats Tamaki, Neijire, and Miriko’s attempts and tears through the cage Best Jeanist makes for him. Mirio wonders if Sir Nighteye’s prediction will come true, according to which only Midoriya can change it.
