The Fantastic Beasts franchise scheduled to hit theatres in July 2022 is now in talks with Mads Mikkelsen. The Warner Bros production house recently asked Johnny Depp to resign from his role in the Harry Potter prequel. He had made his visual as Grindelwald. The character was earlier played by Colin Farrell in 2016.
As Depp lost his libel case against News Group Newspapers, the Sun‘s publisher, he lost his role in “Fantastic Beasts“. The character in the film is dangerous and has a romantic relationship with Dumbledore. Jude Law plays the role of Dumbledore and Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander. The prequel is famous worldwide for its association with amazing actors and the most beloved Harry Potter series.
Can Mikkelsen replace him?
The 54-year-old Danish actor, initially a gymnast and dancer, acted in many films that showcased his expertise. He gained worldwide recognition for his acting in Bryn Fuller‘s Hannibal, Marvel’s Doctor Strange, and Casino Royale. He has been in both TV and films. As news surfaces about his talks to appear as Grindelwald in “Fantastic Beasts,” it’s yet to see if he takes up the role well enough.
