But, unfortunately, an alien robot forces them to evacuate the mothership (Resolute) and crash on another habitable planet.

The family members must brave unfamiliar environments and find a way to survive since they are light years away from where they were headed. Created by Irwin Allen, the series premiered on April 13, 2018. Over two seasons, the show has garnered a massive fan following due to its superior visual presentation, diverse cast, and intense emotional hook. The Robinson family is the pivot of the series. Therefore, fans will see all the characters playing the Robinsons return for the third season, which means Molly Parker and Toby Stephens will reprise their roles as Maureen and John Robinson. Their three children – Judy, Will, and Penny – will return too, and Taylor Russell, Maxwell Jenkins, and Mina Sundwall will play the respective characters. Other cast members include Parker Posy (June Harris/Dr. Smith), Ignacio Serricchio (Don West), Sibongile Mlambo (Angela), and Ajay Friese (Vijay Dhar).

Most of these prominent cast members are expected to be seen once again, along with some new faces. A new character will be introduced to the viewers in season 3, which is Lex Elle’s Park. Another new actor will join the cast to play Grant Kelly, Judy’s biological father. There may be a few exceptions in cast members who we may not see again. These include characters whose death has not been confirmed, such as JJ Feild’s Ben Adler and Parker Posy’s June Harris/Dr. Smith.

Season 2 ends on a cliffhanger, which sees the Robinson kids being separated from their parents and stranded in one part of space while their parents are far away, in some other factor. We are finally introduced to the long-lost ship, Fortuna, and its commander, Grant Kelly, who is also Judy’s biological father. At the end of the season, we see Dr. Smith/June Harris die during the fight with the robots, but her body has not been found.

Season 3 will look at what is going on with Maureen and John and whether they will be able to reunite with their children. This season may look into the origin of the alien robots and the truth behind Dr.Smith/June Harris’ death. One burning question remains: Who is responsible for the human-made signal leading Jupiter 2 to the Fortuna?

With Grant Kelly in the picture, what will that mean for Judy and the kids, especially since they are separated from Maureen and John? Co-writer Matt Sazama revealed that the story of the Robinsons has a very gratifying ending. However, he also added that there is a possibility of more stories following the third season’s conclusion.
