Writing and Drawing Mangas is a physically and mentally demanding task that exerts too much pressure on manga creators. All of us are aware of the well-known case of the Hunter X Hunter mangaka, Togashi who went into hiatus for a long period.
Many mangakas go through states of intense stress from their editors as well as demanding fans. This sorry state of affairs has contributed to many potential and interested people to opt-out of becoming a mangaka.
That’s why it’s extremely concerning to hear the tragic news of Gege Akutami, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen. Recently, Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine revealed that Jujutsu Kaisen will be going into hiatus.
The reasons for this hiatus are due to the Jujutsu Kaisen Mangaka Gege Akutami suffering from poor physical health. However, he claimed that he’s not in serious condition and his mental health is not in jeopardy. Thus, he’ll be away for probably a month, which is good news for both fans and Akutami.
Jujutsu Kaisen will be taking a break, but will be back soon. We wish Gege Akutami a restful time off and look forward to the next chapter! https://t.co/dDbsVzcyaU

This constant trend of manga creators going into hiatus due to poor health has become all too common. The realization of this fact puts our anger and impatience of having to wait for one more chapter or episode of our favorite show in perspective. For the time being, we’ll just have to wait and pray that his health gets better soon.
