Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 213 Recap

It begins with Sukuna explaining why he wanted to make Megumi his new vessel and why he waited until now to do this. He said that Megumi has the potential to surpass even him. This is why Sukuna is waiting until the dark-haired sorcerer’s soul is broken so he doesn’t become a cage like Yuji.

Sukuna then launched Yuji through several buildings, which gained the attention of Maki Zenin and Fumihiko Takaba. The two began rushing toward Yuji and Sukuna’s location, prompting the King of Curses to summon a giant version of Nue to deal with them. At this point, Hana Kurusu and Angel appeared and used their Cursed Techniques to try and separate Sukuna from Megumi.

This appeared to be successful at first, resulting in Megumi crying out for Hana and telling her that he remembered meeting her. Angel warned her not to approach, but Hana went to Megumi anyway. As she hugged him, it is revealed that this is Sukuna pretending to be Megumi, who is now preparing to eat her alive.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 214 begins with Sukuna fatally injuring Hana and throwing her body off the roof. Yuji, who has regained consciousness, watches this scene and is horrified. He jumps on the roof to confront Sukuna.

The boy charges Sukuna with a shocking amount of raw power. Yuji throws a bolder at his adversary, leading Sukuna to exclaim that Kenjaku has been creating “creepy things,” indicating that he is aware of the boy’s parentage. Yuji asks why Curses must always cause misery for others.

Sukuna questions why Yuji can’t seem to die, seeing that he keeps moving forward despite Cleave slashing at his body. Sukuna wonders how Yuji can be so strong but realizes that something has gone wrong when his fingers freeze and Yuji manages to hit him square in the face. He realizes that Megumi has managed to cause his Curse Energy output to decline.
