The future of Deadpool is foggy but certain
Since Disney acquired new fictional characters, rights, and licenses from Fox films. This move allows Disney to expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe even further because Disney now has X-Men under their belt. However, there is one character that is hard to break into the Marvel universe. This one is Deadpool.
Deadpool and Deadpool 2 were a smash hit at the box office, and fans loved Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. Fans have high hopes from Deadpool 3. Deadpool is an X-rated film, so it is challenging for producers to match the X-rated character to friendly PG-13 Marvel films.
How will Deadpool be introduced in MCU?
One way of introducing Deadpool into the MCU is the kind of cross-world leap caused by the events in Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness. Also, new reports suggest that Marvel Studio is planning to wipe out Deadpool and Deadpool 2 with continuity. As a result, Deadpool 3 is a smooth reboot with the same cast, or the new Deadpool in the Marvel movies is an alternative version of Deadpool in previous films. We might hear some jokes about it as well.
This move may not be taken well by fans as fans hate studios disturbing the timeline of their favourite films. Furthermore, this is a very common way to introduce a comic character to the larger world. We know for sure that Deadpool 3 is happening. Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have promised fans that they will work with Marvel to find the best way to introduce Deadpool at MCU.
What does Ryan Reynold have to say?
Ryan Reynolds, the lead actor who reprises the role of Deadpool, said the following about Deadpool 3 in December 2019
“We are working with the whole team right now. We’re at Marvel [Studios] now, it’s like big leagues suddenly. It’s so crazy.”
