Iron Man Is Not The Only One Who Could Return in Black Widow

A report suggests that Robert Downey Jr. may return as Iron Man in the upcoming Black Widow film starring Scarlett Johansson.

Reports say Robert Downey Jr. will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming Black Widow film. Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff were both killed in Avengers: Endgame.

Comicbook.com reports that RDJ’s guest appearance was not what fans were expecting – filmmakers could add unused footage to the Black Widow movie instead of bringing the actor back to the set. The film is set between Captain America: Civil War and Captain America: The Winter Soldier and features a storyline where Stark confronts Natasha about her past.

Deadline reports that Downey Jr. is not the only actor to make a cameo appearance in the film, keeping an eye on the prequel. For his part, Downey Jr. has claimed that his suit is hung for good. But more recently, he has taken an optimistic approach to answering questions about his return to the MCU.

While promoting his latest movie, Dolittle, he was inquired about a possible Black Widow guest appearance, and the actor has neither confirmed nor denied the rumour. According to Moviefone, “It would be nice if they suggested to me… they can do anything now. This could be an in-depth interview for all we know!”

A recent report suggests that due to Dolittle’s critical and commercial failure, Downey Jr. may actually consider returning to the MCU, with a lower asking price. It has been reported that the actor got a huge salary for his Marvel roles for an extended guest appearance on Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Downey Jr. launched the MCU in Iron Man (2008). Johansson debuted in 2010’s Iron Man 2 as a detective. The solo Black Widow stars Florence Pugh, David Harbor and Rachel Weisz.
