Hunter x Hunter Game Gives a Moving Tribute to Leorio’s Late Voice Actor

As most of the anime community must be aware, Hunter x Hunter fans have long since been waiting for the massively popular shonen series to make its grand return once again either with an anime comeback or the manga itself. However, the series has been on hiatus for such a long time now.

So currently, the only good news seems to be Togashi’s series’ continuing in the form of a game called ‘Escape Room Game’. In this game, the characters very heartwarmingly paid a beautiful homage to Leorio’s voice actor, Keiji Fujiwara.

Fujiwara had passed away earlier last year and had been a major part of Hunter x Hunter ever since the anime first started its run.

In the world of Hunter x Hunter, Leorio’s character was never portrayed to be anywhere close to Gon and Killua or even Kurapika’s strength. Leorio also never quite got to master the Nen technique which the others were very familiar with.

This, however, didn’t stop his character from becoming a favorite among many fans who found his idiosyncratic personality super endearing.

Providing much of the comic relief moments in the series, Leorio is a solid character who has vast reserves of intelligence and strategic genius to help the team to overcome challenges they meet throughout their journeys as hunters together.

A Twitter account by the username kvrapkbf shared a post in which it says that in the Hunter x Hunter Escape Room Game, Killua, Gon and Kurapika talk about how Leorio’s mic isn’t working.

This was the team paying homage to the late voice actor of one of the series’ fan favorite characters that really helped in pushing the anime’s popularity even to this day.

Fujiwara’s biggest role was Leorio but besides that, he also had multiple other roles under his belt that made him a much beloved voice actor among many anime fans in the community. Besides the masterpiece that is Hunter x Hunter, Fujiwara also lent his skilled voice acting to many other projects.

These include anime shows such as One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Crayon Shin-Chan, Ao no Exorcist, Mob Psycho 100, and Dr. Stone. He also played Tony Stark’s voice in the Japanese dubbed versions of the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise.
