Here’s Why Rocket Might Die in Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Fans of the MCU have a lot of treats saved up for them by Marvel Studios, especially in 2022 or 2023, when the third installment of Guardians of the Galaxy is slated to release. This film is also known to be the end of the journey of the titular team.

The end:

As seen from Endgame, Marvel isn’t afraid of killing the titular characters if it suits the film’s narrative and will further help the story.

Due to this, makers of the film have already made Rocket Raccoon a target in the upcoming threequel.

Unlike the incomplete story trajectory of Tony Stark, Rocket’s story has come a full circle.

The character that started off as a selfish, greedy character has now evolved into an empathetic and understanding leader of the people.

According to the makers, Rocket is one of the characters many can identify themselves with.

In saying so, killing off such a character will definitely be tumultuous, to say the very least.

This would also be a sort of reincarnation for director James Gunn, who was fired and then rehired to make the film, and believes that Rocket is his favorite character in the franchise.

The Rocket could also die due to the fact that he is the only member of the Guardians of the Galaxy who hasn’t died in any way, shape or form.

Other characters, like the Groot, Gamora and even the remaining members of the Guardians of the Galaxy team were killed off during Infinity War.

Even Nebula, who might be considered as a main member of the team, was seen dead in the film.

Gunn and his role:

During his time as a writer and director in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, James Gunn has been known to introduce shocking and surprising sequences in his films, so killing off Rocket Raccoon would be the ultimate shock if Gunn successfully pulls this off.
