Hawkeye: Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova Joins the Series

Florence Pugh, who plays the role of Yelena Belova, is reportedly returning (once she debuts next year) to the MCU in Hawkeye Disney plus series.

Assasin in Hawkeye

We know now that Yelena Belova is an assassin and a spy just like Natasha and underwent the same training as her, and according to some sources, she is the one who takes up the mantle of Black Widow after Natasha.

While Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton is making an appearance in the Black Widow movie (we are pretty sure that’s the case), there are many chances that he came across Yelena, too, and thus, it makes Yelena trust him and go to him for help.

With reports that the shooting of the series will being this week in New York, we are sure that we will know the confirmed cast anytime now.

According to what we could gather, Hawkeye will be training the character Kate Bishop, and she will take over his mantle. And if rumors are to believed, then Hailee Stanfield of Bumble Bee fame will be playing the role of Kate Bishop, carrying on Hawkeye’s legacy.

Black Widow’s Mantle

According to some of the Black Widow news we have been getting, it is said that the story will fast forward Yelena Belova into the MCU timeline and set her up for future appearances in the MCU, carrying on the legacy of Scarlett Johannsson’s Black Widow.

While the nature of Pugh’s role in the Hawkeye series is unknown, some sources convey that she might be taking on Ronin’s identity. Given that she is carrying the mantle of Black Widow, there are possibilities that she uses Ronin’s identity when she needs a break from keeping up with the Black Widow’s legacy.

Not the first identity theft

Yelena might be taking on Ronin’s identity

This won’t be the first time it’s happening as Alexei Shostakov, aka Red Guardian, Yelena’s teammate, has already pulled this stunt in the comics, so there are chances that this storyline is adapted for Yelena’s character in the MCU.

Maybe that’s why Clint Barton meets with Yelena to confront her in the series? I mean, can we ever predict a marvel storyline accurately? It’s like those writers have completely different thinking and somehow make sure to blow our minds with what they finally give us. It’s better we leave them to it and not intervene.

Will Clint Barton be in the Black Widow movie?

If the Black Widow movie had been released according to the previous schedule, we would’ve by now known if Clint Barton will be making an appearance in the film and if he meets Yelena too.

Since we couldn’t get the movie soon, we would have to wait till next May to find out what is happening, and then we can get on with theories. Until then, we will be reporting to you everything we hear about Marvel’s phase 4.
