First Proper Look At Cheetah In Wonder Woman 1984 Revealed

Kristen Wiig‘s Cheetah‘s partial appearance in Wonder Woman 1984 is shown thanks to a sticker pack. Originally set for release last year, Wonder Woman 1984 is a sequel to much critically acclaimed Wonder Woman film that grossed over $800 million at the box office.

Based in 1984, the film will focus on Wonder Woman (returning Gal Gadot) with powerful businessman Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) and his co-worker Barbara Ann Minerva. Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor will also return to the sequel despite sacrificing himself in the first film.

The Cheetah, which first appeared in 1943, is considered one of Wonder Woman‘s longtime rivals in the rogue gallery. Fans already know that Wonder Woman 1984’s take on the Cheetah shows that she is a shy woman promoted by low self-esteem, which ultimately leads to her transformation into a Cheetah. Maxwell Lord is expected to play a part, as the photos show that the two are going to be intimate and romantic.

One of the biggest secrets of Wonder Woman 1984 is the appearance of a Cheetah after its transformation. Now, the DCEU updates on Twitter have another clue, thanks to pictures of the sticker pack, showing the wig in cheetah makeup. The look is very intense with a little yellow face, black streaks and long ears. Although fans have been given some ideas on what the Cheetah would look like (thanks to toys, Halloween costumes, and so on), this is one of the first clear looks of her in a film-ready state. Even though fans have seen Cheetah transformation tease here or there, they are yet to see it in action. Trailers and official photos of Wonder Woman 1984 have left it on purpose.

At this point, it seems that fans will not see the follow-up footage of Wiig‘s Cheetah until the movie comes out in October. This is a smart move on the DC side, as it gives fans an exciting moment when they finally get to see the film.

The Cheetah has had many different shows over the years, so time will tell if this mode of character will hold some of her iconic performances. Wiig has a lot of experience acting, and it’s interesting how the actor, who is often seen in comedy roles, plays a villain known for his rage and brutality. DC movies are generally lauded for their makeup (Suicide Squad even won an Oscar for it), so if there are any flaws with Wonder Woman 1984, makeup and character design will not be one of them.
