Fans crash the movie booking websites one day into sale of Avengers Endgame tickets

Avengers Endgame tickets

As informed earlier, tickets for “Avengers: Endgame” went on sale Tuesday morning, and as expected fans created hara-kiri, as they crashed several movie theater websites across the globe.

Fans took to social media sites, especially Twitter, complaining of movie theater sites not loading, long wait times and other technical issues when they tried to buy tickets for the film. The main AMC Theatres website wasn’t loading at 8:45 a.m. People also reported problems with Fandango and Atom Tickets.

It was only AMC Burbank 16 having issues, now it’s absolutely EVERY AMC theater… your website is not even loading anymore. You need a bigger server” one Twitter user said.

Other said :
“Shout out to my sister Carissa for getting END GAME tickets! & shout out to me for waking her up at 4:30 am to remind her to be awake to get them! Lol AMC Dolby Theater!”

Lucky one eh:

“The movie websites are crashing & people are waiting hours in an online “line” to purchase tickets! We are LUCKY!”

Below are the tweets from  some disappointed Marvel fans  :

Many blamed AMC theatres for this outrage :

Errors on AMC’s website were all over the place and for a long period of time, the website (and app) seemed to be completely unusable. This prompted the rare public tweet from AMC’s guest services Twitter account, which stated, “We want everyone to be able to grab their Avengers: Endgame tickets, but it looks like we’ve gotten Thanos’ snap. We’re working on getting things back up and running, and in the meantime, please keep trying our website and our partner sites!”

Avengers: Endgame is, unsurprisingly, set to be one of the biggest movies of the year. While we haven’t seen any official predictions as to how well it will do, it seems likely that it will open at least as well as last year’s Avengers: Infinity War, which scored $257 million in its first three days in the US.

In addition, Endgame will open in China two days before the US, further boosting its potential global box office. In recent years, China has become an increasingly important market for big-budget Hollywood movies.

Even with all the issues, Fandango still said “Endgame” broke its first-day presale record. According to the movie service, the film passed previous record holder “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” within “the first six hours of presales.”

The 22-film Marvel Cinematic Universe “Infinity Saga,” the new Avengers film is the sequel to last year’s blockbuster “Avengers: Infinity War.” That film grossed over $2 billion at the worldwide box office, with one Hollywood trade already speculating that “Endgame” could do over to $800 million on its opening weekend worldwide.
