According to the reports, Barry Keoghan was rushed to University Hospital Galway on Sunday early morning after falling victim to a knife attack with several injuries, including facial lacerations. He was later discharged, and luckily, the information available does not suggest that he has serious long-term injuries. The local newspaper Sunday World reported that the 28-year-old actor had not filed any police complaints in the matter.
“He was seen around the city. He said he went down to see some people he had befriended when he was abroad,” a resident told the newspaper. “ It was known that he was staying at the G Hotel, which is one of the chicest hotels in the city. But no one heard anything about any attacks or anything, and everything was kept silent .”
A spokesman for the Galway Police said:
“ Police reported an incident at a hotel in the Wellpark area of Galway City on Sunday, August 15, 2021, after 3:30 am. An ambulance was also called, and a man in his 20s was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Investigations are ongoing. No arrests were made .”
For now, we don’t really know what exactly happened in that altercation.
Barry Keoghan will play Druig, an Eternal who was never much of a fan of humans, even though he has their most curious power. He can control people’s minds, and already in the first trailer, we saw him in action. Druig appears with white eyes, surrounded by people who look the same and doing exactly what he does.
The actor has a curious history before joining the cast of the new Marvel Studios movie. In 2013, he went to Twitter to send a special request to the legend Stan Lee. The young actor publicly expressed his great desire in the message: “Stan Lee, please make me a superhero.” But, unfortunately, Stan Lee left in 2018 and could not witness the Irishman’s dream come true.
