The word tragic means different to each. Elizabeth Olsen had a different meaning to the word when she was young, and she recalled how much it pushed her.

Are the Olsen Twins and Elizabeth Olsen related?

If you are a fan of the WandaVision star, you probably know that she has uber-famous sisters. What we think is something really cool, has always been a big drawback for Elizabeth Olsen.

Her sisters had been in the field since they were six months old. They are what you call uber-famous, and growing up in their family as their sister trying to keep up was not easy.

But the things that affected Lizzie the most were not how she was but how others saw her.

Nepotism and Dilemma

Elizabeth Olsen had clear access to acting due to her successful sisters, but even as a 10-year-old, Lizzie did not like riding their coattails.

“I guess I understood what nepotism was like inherently as a 10-year-old. I don’t know if I knew the word, but there is some sort of association of not earning something that I think bothered me at a very young age.”

Around the age of 14, she almost gave up on acting, but she pulled through. She got her first breakthrough in 2011, and by then, her sisters were as far as they could be from the acting scene.

Why did Elizabeth Olsen want to change her name?

More than being afraid of keeping up with her sisters, young Olsen wanted to avoid any kind of attention coming her way.

Her sisters were the talk of the town back then. Being associated with them was a big deal, and as a way to avoid that, Elizabeth Olsen went to school by using her maiden name, Chase, as her surname.

She was known through her school as Elizabeth Chase, and she planned on playing volleyball and going to an ivy league with a scholarship.

But she never went through with it and dropped her decision to permanently change her name to Elizabeth Chase.

Right now, Elizabeth Olsen has far surpassed her sisters’ status and has won so many recognitions for her talent. Up until recently, many didn’t even know that she was related to the Olsen twins.

So, she did, after all, fulfill her goal of shining through no matter her surname!
