Eiichiro Oda is a famous Japanese manga artist and the creator of the popular One Piece series. The One Piece series has over 470 million copies in circulation worldwide. Thus One Piece is considered the best-selling manga and the best-selling comic series of all time. Thus making Oda one of the best selling fiction authors. Also, the series’ popularity makes him one of the manga artists that changed history.

Oda’s Hometown is Kumamoto, Japan. He was born on January 1, 1975. Oda was formerly Nobuhiro Watsuki’s assistant. Watsuki is the creator of the Rurouni Kenshin series. Also, He was Shinobu Kaitani’s assistant. Oda started to work for Shueisha‘s Shonen Jump at 17. In a recent Japanese fan poll, Eiichiro Oda was the 48th Most Popular Character in One Piece. Despite the fact that he has never included himself at all in the manga.

Oda is married to Chiaki Inaba, who played Nami in the Jump Festa One Piece stage performances. Oda and Inaba have two daughters. He is a fan of Eminem, filmmaker Quentin Tarantino as well as Tim Burton. Also, he played soccer when he was younger.

Oda’s 3 most favourite movies are Seven Samurai, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Young Guns. According to Oda in a meeting for the US Shonen Jump, his favourite villain in One Piece is Buggy the Clown. Oda’s favourite type of music is soul music. He considers Brook Benton as his favourite in the genre. His other favourite musicians include Bryan Adams, Eminem, and Izumi Kato.
