Edens Zero is a Japanese manga series by Hiro Mashima, the author of Rave Master, Monster Soul and Fairy Tail, which debuted in the Weekly Shonen Magazine on June 27th, 2018 in Japan.

Shiki is a human who lives in a city filled with only robots. He has lived on Granbell for most of his life after being taken in by the Demon King robot, who became his grandfather figure.

Now he does repairs for the robots in the park. But the robots then strangely turn against Shiki to force him to leave the planet with Rebecca in order to fulfil their promise to the Demon King, who knew Shiki was destined for greatness. With the ancient powers of Ether Gear, Shiki begins his journey into space, where dragons roam the stars!

Recap of Edens Zero Chapter 181

The chapter begins with Shiki and the allied fleet amassing near Lendard, following a rapid synopsis of events from the conclusion of the Aoi War to the present day by Xiao Mei. Despite the fact that they are on opposing sides of the law, Elsie and Holy agree to play nice for the time being. Elsie, on the other hand, intends to take down Ziggy herself. Rebecca feels awful about bringing the Chronophage to Norma again in the hangar bay, but Happy advises her not to worry. The party then launches into combat against Ziggy’s fleet, with Shiki’s words of encouragement!

The battle for Lendard begins, with the three allied parties annihilating Ziggy’s forces. However, just when things appear to be heading in the right direction, something unexpected occurs. A swarm of hundreds of dragons arrives out of nowhere and begins buzzing over Lendard, protecting it. To everyone’s dismay, they discover that only one person is capable of doing so: God Aconella, another OSG member and the Mother of Dragons. She’s decided to team up with Ziggy!

Spoilers for Edens Zero Chapter 182

The best part of having Xiaomei introduce any chapter or incident is that we can learn a lot from her emotion and language. It’s not always the most accurate point to go through, because her emotions may actually indicate a lot (particularly with fighting, which she doesn’t have a complete awareness of), but one thing it does convey is that the stakes for this dispute are quite high. Whatever happens in the end, it will be a huge game-changer, and all that remains is to watch how it will be handled.

The moment you start monitoring the participants in the combat, things start to get pretty intriguing. Let’s see what happens. We have hundreds of robots on Ziggy’s side, but the 4 Dark Stars, OSG Deadend Crow, and God Acnoella are the crucial characters.

The most significant factor working against us is that we don’t know anything about those two abilities. On the heroes’ side, albeit imbalanced, it’d be bold to argue that they don’t have such a significant disadvantage primarily due to quality.

Now it’s time to bring in Acnoella, who is unquestionably the game’s wild card. And, while the odds are stacked against her siding with Ziggy, the idea of her being a neutral force in this conflict is intriguing. Perhaps even here to put a stop to it? We have no idea.

Let us delude ourselves with this notion until we obtain evidence that she is working with Ziggy. Who and what is she, in fact? There’s a lot we don’t know about her and those answers are only going to get answered in the next chapters, so speculation is our only choice now.
