Chris Hemsworth, who began his career on Australian television shows before becoming a Marvel superhero Thor, once revealed that his role on Dancing with the Stars Australia had lost him in Thor’s role. He attended the fifth reality show of the dance reality show and was ranked in the Top 5.
In a talk with BBC One in 2017, Hemsworth was once told by Feige that: “We’ve all seen your audition. We were just passing it around the office, and everyone was really into it. And then, some girls started to Google your name and this dance video came up, and I thought, ‘Oh no. Thor dancing! Fans are going to eat us alive.”
Hemsworth said the skills he picked up on Dancing with the Stars were appropriate during the filming of Thor. “It had made me more nimble on my feet. And I had to be with the cape. You can see a little bit of the quality of Dancing with the Stars in Thor,” he said.
Hemsworth entered the MCU in 2011 with Thor. He has reprised his role in The Avengers (2012), Thor: The Dark World (2013), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), a cameo in Doctor Strange (2016), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). He is set to return in the fourth Thor solo movie, Thor: Love and Thunder, to be released on February 2022.
Tarka: Waititi will direct Love and Thunder, with Tessa Thompson and Natalie Portman picking up their respective roles as Valkyrie and Jane Foster. Christian Bale plays the villain in the film.
