Chris Evans Vs Scarlett Johansson: How the Internet Handled Their NSFW leak
No matter how hard we try, sometimes things are just different. The internet and fans were more than adorable when Evans’ NSFW leaked.
Double Standards?
Many even went on to report the accounts just posted about that incident without the picture. While we respect entirely and are amazed by how maturely the internet handled this, we are shocked to see the double standards.
Old School Evans
Chris Evans is new to Instagram, and the 39-year-old actor has always shown that he hates technology. By mistake, the actor himself leaked the pictures, which he deleted it as soon as possible, but some were quick to grab a screenshot. But fans started a sweeping campaign to protect the actor, saying he has had a case with anxiety and asked those who took a screenshot to not to spread it. Thanks to them, the pictures were off the internet even though news spread all over.
Aftermath
Evans spoke in an interview later and said it was embarrassing, but his fans are the best. But these standards and procedures were not followed when the same thing happened with Scarlett Johannsson. While hers was totally different, a hacker leaked her private pictures to the internet.
Law helped but not the people.
The hacker has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, but the internet did not in any way support ScarJo. Even though Scarlett is not on any social media, her pictures, and her image were torn apart.
Not the first
The same has happened with Mila Kunis and Jennifer Lawrence, but they never received the same support as Evans. Is it double standards? Yes, definitely! But we hope it seriously changes by this pandemic because we are tired of this treatment.
Kat Dennings Pointed out The Hypocrisy
But not many were ready to be vocal about this, except Marvel actor and 2 Broke Girls fame Kat Dennings. She called out and asked wouldn’t it be nice if the same thing was followed when it happens to a woman.
The public respect for Chris Evans’ privacy/feelings is wonderful. Wouldn’t it be nice if it extended to women when this kind of thing happens?

Time to think
While you let this thought sink in, don’t by any chance think that maybe Evans got off easy, let’s give him the same treatment. Celebrities are humans too. Don’t treat them differently just because they are in the public eye. We are overwhelmed to see how Evans was protected, why not do the same to others?
Why not use this quarantine to rethink how we have double standards?
