Chris Evans’ Cameo In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier?

Captain America Plane Crash

Steve Rogers’ presence looms large over all of Marvel’s superhero story for the times, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. That is to say that the Disney+ series has dealt heavily with the legacy of Captain America, and characters like Isaiah Bradley have added interesting complications and layers to the established Captain America canon.

As a result, while Chris Evans has not made an actual onscreen appearance as Steve Rogers on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the character still feels like a major player in the show’s story.

The iconic Avenger feels so integral to the Disney+ show, in fact, that Marvel fans have been speculating for some time now that he will return for a brief cameo appearance in a future episode.

There haven’t been any official announcements or credible leaks up to this point indicating that Evans will appear in the series, though, and the actor seems pretty adamant that he won’t be reprising the role anytime in the foreseeable future.

That said, some new comments from one of the stars of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier have fans wondering again if their suspicions may turn out to be correct.

Will Chris Evans appear on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier?

Wyatt Russell — who plays John Walker in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier — brushed against the Steve Rogers cameo rumors in a recent interview with BBC Radio One.

When asked if he had ever met Chris Evans, Russell said, “I think I have. I don’t think I’ve ‘shook his hand’ met him, but I think I’ve walked by him somewhere and made eye contact. That counts as being a stalker; that doesn’t count as meeting anybody. But, I guess it would.” He quickly followed those comments up by teasing the final two episodes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, saying, “You just gotta wait until the end of the series, and then everybody will be like, ‘Oh, wow.'”

Now, some fans are taking Russell’s comments to mean that Steve Rogers will show up at some point in the series. It should be noted, though, that Russell’s comments don’t actually hint that there will be a cameo from Steve.

All the John Walker actor says is that fans will be surprised (or moved) by what happens at the end of the show, which could mean they’ll either be surprised by a Steve cameo or surprised that he never actually showed up. Russell, who clearly understands Marvel’s protocol for avoiding spoilers in interviews, does a good job avoiding any real details about what will happen in the coming installments of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Tom Holland, he is not.

That means fans will just have to be okay with the rumors remaining purely speculative for the time being. Although, if Steve does end up appearing on Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it’s hard to imagine he’ll be happy about the way Russell’s John Walker has conducted himself as Captain America — or how he’s used the shield.
