The long-awaited deathmatch between Dazai and Fyodor will finally begin in Bungou Stray Dogs Chapter 97. With their deathmatch on one side and Fukuchi relentlessly trying to find Bram, chaos took its very first step. As a matter of fact, there are several other sub-plots also going simultaneously.

About Bungou Stray Dogs:

Bungou Stray Dogs is a manga series written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa. It has also received an anime adaptation.

The story follows Atsushi who is a weretiger and later joins the Armed Detective Agency where people with special abilities help keep peace in the area. The agency faces peril from time to time and must rise up against all odds.

A Brief Recap of Bungou Stray Dogs Chapter 96:

The chapter begins with Aya running to an exit before Fukuchi finds out that she stole Bram. After seeing that Bram isn’t in his coffin, Fukuchi orders his zombies to seal every exit to kill the perpetrator. Also, we caught a very silhouette-like glimpse of the ‘Zombie Akutagawa’.

In the next panel, we see Gogol arranging a game between Dazai and Fyodor. Gogol proposes a deathmatch in which participants must escape from Meursault Prison within 30 minutes or they will die. Meanwhile, Sigma is contemplating normalcy and the monstrosity he’s witnessing in the room. 

On the other side, Aya is in great danger as Fukuchi’s zombies are blocking the exits to find the thief. She panics and tries to take off the sword from Bram’s body but is unable to. In addition to that, she tells Bura-chan that all she has left is her determination to save the world. 

Seeing how hard she is trying to save others, Bram agrees to help her but on one condition. He wants a radio that will put some calmness in his eternal slumber of sleep. But Aya gives her a better gift – a music device with earphones. After listening to the melodies, he asks Aya – ‘Art thou God?’

The Game Begins:

Cut to the next panel and we see Gogol describing the ultimate security the prison has to offer. Not going to lie, the prison is a ‘state of the art’ as it contains everything from Advanced Weapons to Isotope-Formulated Heavy Water. Due to the stakes being so high, Gogol provides the participants with four ‘whimsical’ presents.

Out of a walkie-talkie, an ultimate keycard, explosive coins, and a satellite phone, Fyodor chooses the keycard.  And when Dazai’s chance comes up, he chooses Sigma as his weapon of choice in order to escape the prison. Finally, the game begins.

What Can You Expect From The Next Chapter?

First things first, the deathmatch between Dazai and Fyodor will most likely start from the next chapter itself. If things go well, we might get to see the reason why Dazai chose Sigma too. Nonetheless, the game is going to be pretty interesting with so much at stake here.

Let’s not forget Aya and her musical adventures with Bura- chan too. At this point, they might just be the most adorable duo in the series. Moreover, Bungou Stray Dogs Chapter 97 will also focus on how they will get out of Fukuchi’s hands. And hey, if Asagiri wants he might also finally show us ‘Zombie Akutagawa’ in the next chapter.
