About Bleach’s Soul King

As the ruler of the Soul Society, the Soul king keeps a check on the passing of souls into and out of soul society. His existence is also tied to the Human World, Hueco Mundo and Dangai. Without him, all the different realms will collapse into one resulting in the unification of life and death. 

Also known as the God that has been sealed, the Soul King resides in the Soul King palace and is protected by the royal guard. His limbs and organs are detached from his body and function as deities with their own respective powers. Read further to know more about the Soul King’s powers and his sentient body parts.

Soul King’s Powers and Abilities

He possesses immense Reiryoku/spiritual powers so much so that his separated body parts, his heart and left arm maintain enough Reiryoku to join Yhwach’s sternritters as his Schutzstaffel. Another fascinating ability of the Soul king is the power to see the future.

Oken Bestowment is another high powered ability of his which allows one to infiltrate the Soul king palace. His power to remain immune to the precognitive abilities of the Almighty is definitely one of his biggest strengths.

About his Sentient body parts 

The severed body parts have their own identities and significance:

The heart (Gerard Valkyrie) displays miracles by allowing form to the wishes and thoughts of the user and those around him. Yhwach calles this spirit ‘The Miracle’. 

The right arm (Mimihagi) controls the development and change of anything. The Almighty has also remarked how his eyes cannot predict the movement of this body part.

The left arm (Pernida Parnkgjas) also named ‘The Compulsory’ regulates evolution. It keeps a check on the progression and strengthening of oneself and others.

About the anime Bleach

Based on Tite Kubo’s original manga series of the same name, Bleach is a long-running anime that aired from 2004 to 2012 containing 366 episodes. The story is set on the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki after he acquires the powers of a Soul Reaper from another soul reaper, Rukia Kuchiki. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, which covers the manga’s final story arc is set to launch in October 2022.
