Blade Series Reboot Loses Director Bassam Tariq

Bassam Tariq, the director of Marvel Studios Blade movie, has quit the project, as per The Hollywood Reporter. The report said that the vampire superhero movie filming would start in November. Whether the production will go according to schedule is not yet known. Mahershala Ali plays the primary character in the movie, which was revealed during the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con. Wesley Snipes had indicated an interest in taking on the part again, but Kevin Feige and the other decision-makers went with Ali.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel said, “Due to continued shifts in our production schedule, Bassam is no longer moving forward as director of Blade but will remain an executive producer on the film. We appreciate Bassam’s talent and all the work he’s done getting Blade to where it is.”

Before this news, Blade was scheduled to begin filming in November. The impact of Bassam Tariq’s departure on the movie’s production is not yet known. According to reports, Marvel Studios has already begun looking for a new director. In his statement, Bassam Tariq said, “Working with the fantastic people at Marvel has been an honor. “We were able to assemble a fantastic cast and crew. eager to see where the film is taken by the upcoming director.”

Production on Blade may still begin in November and possibly make its late 2023 release date because the script was already completed and the majority of the actors had been assembled. Marvel Studios might contact past applicants they had in mind before Tariq was chosen, which would hasten the production of the Blade revival.
