5 Confirmed Theories For Black Widow

5 Confirmed Theories About The Next Marvel Movie According To The MCU Black Widow Trailer:

The first MCU Black Widow Trailer released on December 3rd, 2019. And with the trailer, fans finally got a glimpse of the first solo movie of Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff. This is something fans have been waiting ever since her debut into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2010’s Iron Man 2.

The plot of the film is mysterious, just like all other MCU films. Regardless, it has garnered a lot of speculation ever since its announcement. And while there is still a lot left to learn about the film, the Black Widow Trailer does make some things sure for us, as of now. Some of these are…

The Black Widow Trailer Confirms That Black Widow Will Take Place Between Civil War And Infinity War:

There was a lot of confusion with the Black Widow movie. Fans have been curious ever since they saw Romanoff’s tragic death in return for the Soul Stone in Endgame. However, the Black Widow Trailer clears every confusion.

The film will take place in between the events of Captain America: Civil War (2016) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Therefore, we are sure of two things, Black Widow is both a prequel as well as a sequel. Also, Natasha Romanoff is dead. However, with the film, we will get to see her in action one last time.

The Trailer Also Confirmed That David Harbour Will Star In The Film As Red Guardian:

The Stranger Things actor will appear in Black Widow as Alexei Shostakov, otherwise known as Red Guardian.

Red Guardian made his debut in Marvel comics in 1967. According to his battle helmet and the star embroidered on his chest, his character was created as a Soviet equivalent to our very own Captain America, complemented with a bright red shield to solidify the resemblance.

William Hurt Will Be Reprising His Role As Thunderbolt Ross, According To The Black Widow Trailer:

The Black Widow Trailer marks an appearance by an old character and friend of the Avengers, namely Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. Actor William Hurt reprises his role as Thunderbolt in the film. He is an army general who has a love-hate relationship with the Avengers.

The trailer shows a brief glimpse of the general, who looks far younger than he did in the Civil War. In saying so, the film might end up delving deeper into Natasha Romanoff’s history. This is before it joins the Avengers. Furthermore, it seems that Thunderbolt Ross is connected to Natasha’s past.

We Also See Florence Pugh Appear As Black Widow’s Sister Yelena Belova:

One of the most exciting moments of the Black Widow Trailer shows Natasha in a brutal face-off with a Russian-accented blonde woman. The fight ends with Romanoff telling her opponent, “It’s good to see you too, sis.”

This sister is Yelena Belova, played by actress Florence Pugh. Although, we aren’t exactly sure if she is Natasha’s sister by blood or a friend who is like a sister. In the comics, Yelena is a Russian spy and assassin trained by the Red Room, the same organization known for training Natasha Romanoff.

Taskmaster Will Be The Main Villain In The Black Widow Movie:

The Black Widow Trailer confirms the fact that Taskmaster will be the main antagonist in the film. In the teaser, we see the Taskmaster showing off his great archery skills. He also dons a helmet along with a mouth guard which resembles the bottom half of a skull.

Black Widow hits theatres on May 1st, 2020. It also marks the beginning of Phase 4 of the MCU.
