Till now, we have seen Scarlett Johansson on the sets of Black Widow and got a glimpse of what appears to be the movie’s official logo… much like it.

A New Character on Black Widow Sets!

Still, there’s more to reveal and now a costumed character has been spotted on set who looks a lot like Taskmaster.

He may not have a skull on his head, but his mask certainly seems to resemble one in some respects and that appears to be a hood on his back, so the signs all seem to point to the villain finally making his MCU debut.

The new photos were shared on Twitter by @okbanana, showing a new character in a mysterious costume joining the universe.

The images are low-res, taken from a distance, appears to be blue and silver primarily with some hints of orange.

The face mask completely conceals the identity of the actor playing the role, but the costume design has brought about speculation that it could be the Marvel villain Taskmaster.

David Harbour seems like a strong contender, but there is any number of characters this could be from the comics as Marvel Studios doesn’t shy away from reimagining more obscure villains.

Either way, it appears as if he’s driving some sort of tank and possibly hunting Natasha.

More About the Taskmaster

Taskmaster can mimic any abilities that he sees or comes into contact with, making him the ultimate fighter and mercenary.

He would be a formidable opponent for Natasha, as he would learn every move that she makes if they had to fight.

In addition to his suit, this character also possesses a heavily armored vehicle that can be seen speeding through the streets of Budapest in a set video below.

Taskmaster has ties to the Thunderbolts in the comics and has been part of major storylines like Dark Reign and Secret Empire, and even was recruited by Nick Fury to be a Secret Avenger at one point.

With so much potential for a character like Taskmaster and the possible introduction of Yelena Belova, a different Black Widow, there could be some significant MCU revelations in Black Widow when everything is said and done.

Black Widow is currently shooting (despite not being officially announced) and we know that Fighting For My Family’s Florence Pugh has landed a key role in the movie.

Black Widow comes after fans around the world saw the character sacrifice her life in Avengers: Endgame The solo movie will be a prequel story following Natasha at an unspecified time in her life.

Since it is a prequel, though, many have wondered how vital it will be to the larger MCU story.
