Marvel’s Phase 3 is soon getting a close with the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Many characters are still left with their stories and conclusions.

So speculations are high if we will see those characters in the upcoming phase.

Now some news came up which has confirmed that a sequel to 2016’s Doctor Strange is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s post-Infinity Saga lineup.

One star from the original film has just confirmed the awaited sequel to get in production next year.

Doctor Strange star Benedict Wong, who played the character of Wong in the film has provided some potential insight while speaking at Denver Pop Culture Con over the weekend.

“I know they’ve now got a writer on board who I met at the Endgame premiere, So I think that may be happening sometime next year.”

Last year, after the release of Avengers: Infinity Wars, Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed the news of Doctor Strange’s sequel.

It was a surprising moment for all Avengers fan on seeing Doctor Strange back to the movie fighting Thanos.

His comeback is still a mystery and has opened up plenty of possibilities that it can lead for its sequel.

Benedict Cumberbatch previously had signaled by revealing that he might return after his death in Infinity Wars:

“Oh, Strange? Just try to stop me.

That’s all kind of lined up as far as I’m aware, but who knows.

“I mean, you know, the problem is, how does he get out of where he’s at? But that’s the only thing. I’m bits of dust at the moment as far as I understand. So you really have to ask Kevin Feige.

That leaked information is especially true, considering Wong also appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

It looks like Wong may have well known of inside track of recent information to provide. And considering what’s been previously reported, it looks like the Doctor Strange sequel is right on track.

More About Doctor Strange Sequel

It was earlier confirmed that director Scott Derrickson had signed a deal to return for Doctor Strange 2, very little information regarding the film’s development process has been made available.

Though what remains to be seen is if Doctor Strange co-writer C. Robert Cargill’s previous remarks about said sequel still apply to further drafts.

It wasn’t too long ago that Cargill was speaking about how Nightmare would be the next main villain that Strange would be squaring off against.

But as anyone knows, with new writers come new responsibilities.
There’s no confirmed production or release dates for Doctor Strange 2, but we surely are seeing a green signal for the production or the release date from Marvel itself.
