Attack On Titan Season 4 Episode 18 Recap

Episode 18, titled “Sneak attack”, unveiled more of the conflict between the Marleyans and the Eldians (the Yeagerists and the Marleyan volunteers led by Yelena).

Here are all the events that transpired in the previous episode:

Mikasa, Armin, Connie, and Jean reluctantly decide to save Eren after Armin convinces them that Eren has their best wishes. They decide to confront him after the war gets over.

Beast Titan Arrives

The Beast Titan appears saving Eren from Reiner’s assault and starts throwing crushed stones at the Marleyan soldiers, thereby inflicting massive damage on them. He burns their airships too and almost kills the Cart Titan along with Captain Magath.

When Zeke appears on the top of the wall, Yelena is stupefied and is in pure awe of him. When the Survey Corps members led by Armin appear, they are alarmed by Zeke being there and enquire about Hange and Levi. Yelena replies they’ve been defeated.

Yelena’s Hatred And Smile (After A Second)

While they seem a bit reluctant, Armin convinces them yet again. However, in a frightening scene, Yelena sneaks up behind him and frowns at Armin menacingly, her face contorted in hatred and rage. After a second, she smiles warmly and tells them to go help Eren.

Armin and the rest are horrified and it goes on to prove that Yelena isn’t to be trusted. We later see the Cart Titan’s skeleton mired in steam and we think she has died.

In a heartbreaking scene, we see the head of Military Police rescuing Falco and bringing him safely to his brother and Gabi. Later, as they’re hiding, Gabi shares how she’s realized that people on Paradis Island aren’t devils, they’re just people like her.

Falco then admits his love for her in front of his brother. He confesses that he doesn’t want her to inherit the Titan powers and instead, wants to stay with her happily. After they find out Falco will turn into a Titan if Zeke screams, they decide to try to convince Zeke to not do so.

However, it turns out to be staged and the Marleyan soldiers kill some Corps members. Then, Magath, in a perfect sneak attack, blasts off the Beast Titan’s nape, severely injuring Zeke as he falls down the wall violently.

The enemy Titans led by Reiner make it their mission to stop the two brothers from reuniting.
